Transformation "Love" Series Collaborations Galactic Gestural Memory The Lot Art Shows Death Mira Milkweed
My images are reflection pools for my thoughts, with roots that pull back into history and snatch at the future, surfacing the lake of the present. I want to show the deep soul of a thing. While I am building a landscape surrounding, ancient structures emerge and sneak past time and space; galaxies divide and psychic vectors head to the center of memory. Blinding white and astroblack, the mud of burial grounds smeared, chalked up expressions fill the surface. Matter is enshrined on the page. There are the eyes to the unknown; the four point galactic split. Spring, summer, fall and winter skies collide into a conglomerated presence. I try to weave the lace of composition by connecting these points into a kaleidoscope of color and pattern. This is the guide I work to create for my viewers to travel through the artworks.

These layers together inform a visual diary that defines the core of my work. Thus far landscape, history, memory and self have been my teachers. The observation of landscape lends itself to organic patterns, geographical process and color palettes. Historical research guides the symbolism used and my investigations into architecture, textiles, sacred sites and celestial occurrences. Memory serves as the key intermediary to my subconscious; here I gather the majority of my subject matter from different points in my life, formulate the relationships between those objects, and solidify a landscape to house these visions. Lastly, self is the creator and interpreter of all experience. By channeling these sources I can find the depths of my emotions: fear, death, despair, birth, regrowth and change.
